Stoneleigh Park, Coventry, 1st September 2012. Judge: Mr Brian Kerrush (Micklam).

Unfortunately, I derived little pleasure from this exercise, as the entry offered little quality in depth. I was presented with four bad mouths, many level toplines, poorly-constructed forehands resulting in wide front movement and the ever-present problem of close movement behind. When will breeders get down to sorting this out?

Best Puppy Marshall & Skitt's Deegandan Dughall

Puppy Dog1st: Marshall & Skitt's Deegandan Dughall
Very promising mustard baby enjoying his day. Best of heads, with good expression and deep, melting eyes, good length of neck on good shoulders. Correct topline and tail placement. Presented well, in good coat and moving without fault both ways. BP, DCC & BOB.
2nd: Hendrick's Etsill Quoydandy
Another promising mustard with much to like. Unlucky to meet the winner today, sharing many of his good features but not moving as well behind and lacking a little animation.
3rd: Jacka-Slater's Pennywave Lone Ranger
Res: Milliner's Xenon z Roxburku Sun at Millerim

Junior Dog1st: Deacon & Pearce's Cassencarrie I Kid You Not
Smart-looking mustard, very workmanlike. Good head with powerful underjaw. Nice length and in the best of coats, but not moving particularly well in front.
2nd: Bird's Birbrinda Scottish Water
Another smart mustard with good head. Well-presented in good coat, just failing to the winner on hind action.

Limit Dog1st: Shore's Swanwillow Clarion Call
Up to size mustard. Good head, melting expression, good length of neck leading to good shoulders. Nice length and topline, moved well both ways. Just lacking coat.
2nd: Hughes's Maganbar Magic Moment
Smaller than the winner but with good head and expression. Shorter than the winner and moving poorly behind.
3rd: Sleight's Cassencarrie Bobby Vee at Bonnybeck

Open Dog1st: Eriksson's Int Ch. Scottsbairn Hugh Of Ross
Very masculine pepper and very much the type I like. Great head and expression, good length of neck leading to perfect shoulders and classic topline. Moved well both ways. A little too dark for some and perhaps a little high in leg, Res CC.
2nd: Kurg's Etsill Scapa Flow
Smaller type than the winner, but very pleasing to look at. Smaller head with good expression, good conformation and topline, nice length of neck on good shoulders. Moved well in front but not behind.
3rd: Morris's Cassencarrie Rumour Has It at Pennywave

Good Citizenship Dog1st: Sleight's Cassencarrie Bobby Vee at Bonnybeck

Veteran Bitch1st: Morris's Hendell Tassel at Pennywave
Good coated mustard with good head and expression. Moved well both ways and was enjoying her day out.

Junior Bitch1st: Pierce & Baker's Birbrinda Calendar Girl
Well-presented happy mustard with good head and expression, fair length but needs to impress on the move.

Postgraduate Bitch1st: Hamilton's Maganbar Amber Mist over Margham
Lacking leg hair and furnishings this very feminine mustard moved and showed well. Good expression and pleasing topline.
2nd: Shore's Swanwillow She's Hot
Mustard bitch with very nice head and expression but in need of a new jacket. I found her rather heavy in front and not moving as well as the winner.
3rd: Sleight's Cassencarrie Madelaina at Bonnybeck
Res: Skitt & Marshall's Duneideann Limited Edition

Limit Bitch1st: Heywood's Cloverwood Day By Day at Schalulleke
Beautiful feminine pepper bitch. Good head and expression, best of forehands, good toplione, moved both ways with drive and extension. Enjoyed her outing. BCC.
2nd: Marshall's Ch. Duneideann First Edition
Similar to the winner, but much more chunky and not moving as freely. Owner must pay more attention to her tendency to crouch.
3rd: Bird's Etsill Shapinsay Sound with Birbrinda
Res: Hughes's Maganbar Apple Blossom

Open Bitch1st: Ray's Dentgate Sweet Symphony
Solid and sound feminine mustard. Good head and expression, melting eyes, good forehand, moved well both ways. Lacked a littler sparkle today and would benefit from having some coat taken out. Res CC.
2nd: Kinsey-Morgan's Inzievar Gold Effect
Good coated and feminine mustard bitch. Good head and expression, good conformation and super topline. Just failed to winner in hind movement.
3rd: Eriksson's Se Ch. Scottsbairn Royal Sybilla
Res: Morris's Pennywave Amaryllis
VHC: Rolland's Clossongrey Marshwiggle

Good Citizenship Bitch1st: Jarvis's Mosterlada Shooting Star
Very pretty mustard with good head and expression. Moved well but could do with a bit more sparkle.
