Another nice pepper who appeared on initial inspection to be ‘over coated’ but this was probably just down to his type of coat, but did I feel on the day made him look a little stuffy and flattened his topline – there was a very nice dog underneath, which had a lot to like about him. Lacked vibrancy today, which cost him in the challenge.

Bournemouth Canine Association, 10th August 2014.   Judge: Mr Jeff Horswell.

Liked the size and length of this dog. Masculine head, strong muzzle, low set ears. Could be better in shoulder and upper arm and feet could be tighter. Good depth of chest. Well ribbed back. Would like a little more topline on him. Well made rear, which he uses very well.

4 years pepper. Larger and stockier dog all through than 1. Strong head with profuse topknot. Dark eye and pleasing expression. Moved well enough on good legs and feet. Preferred the size and body shape of 1.

Close decision between 1 and 2 just preferred the topline and tail set of No.1. Lovely pepper jacket on this boy with nicely domed head and dark eye. He is very well muscled throughout with good straight front. Correct topline and tail set. Moved well fore and aft.

4 years pepper who was good to go over. Attractive well proportioned head with broad skull, strong muzzle, expressive eyes and correct earset. Carrying excellent bone throughout, well ribbed and super muscling to both front and rear. Strong neck of correct length but could use a slightly more defined topline. Good tail for both set and carriage. Moving well in profile but not the fore and aft action of the winner.

5 yearly pepper I have watched over time. Crispest coat on a pepper! Lovely head shape and expression. Good coming and going. Balanced in length. Good shoulder placement. Nicely put together dandie. Today he strutted his stuff giving him BD & BIS.

Windsor Championship Dog Show, 1st July 2017.   Judge: Mrs Beverly Deacon.

Mature pepper who left his clothes at home, profuse furnishings that rather detracted from the dogs movement. Strong skull and dark eye, bite is good but teeth need attention. Well ribbed and good length, moved ok.

Bournemouth Canine Association, 13th August 2017.   Judge: Mrs Sheila Linter.

Open Dog - 2nd

Have done this pepper boy well before and have not changed my mind about him, he has a lovely head and true Dandie expression, he has good front and rear angulation, nice shape to top line and good tail set. Correct scissor bite and good padded feet. He moves well but not quite the power and drive of No.1.

Crufts, 9th March 2018.   Judge: Mr Paul Keevil.

Correct but rather short pepper jacket today. Nice expression and shape of head, expressive eyes and correct ear set. excellent bone, well ribbed and muscled. Not the movement of my winner but considered for the RDCC.
